Hertfordshire Wedding Photography at Down Hall
Hertfordshire Wedding Photography at Down Hall. Just last weekend I was at the historic Country House in Hertfordshire, Down Hall which is located in the breathtaking beauty of the Essex/Hertfordshire Countryside. A short drive from Central London this really is a fantastic wedding venue. I was at Down Hall for the wedding of Jocelyn and Stuart who’d contacted me back in January and commissioned me to photograph their May wedding day.
Weddings in the UK will always be like rolling a dice when it comes to the weather and as UK Wedding Photographer I’m used to dealing with all extremes. Jocelyn and Stuart were actually very lucky as despite some heavy showers in the morning the Sun appeared around lunchtime and stayed out for the rest of the day.
Ritz Wedding Photography
Ritz Wedding Photography: Luciana and Sebastian were married at the Ritz Hotel in London and chose the Palace of Versailles styled Marie Antoinette Suite for the ceremony. The couple chose the Ritz for its magnificent architecture and decorations and wanted their wedding images to reflect the beauty of the building. After the ceremony we made our way down to the stunning Ritz Casino before heading back to the Ritz and into what can only be described as one of the most stunning dining rooms in the UK, the William Kent Room. Decorated in the Italian Renaissance style this room was perfect for Luciana and Sebastians wedding breakfast.

Weddings at the Ritz in London: So where do I start with Tony and Pariena’s wedding at the Ritz last week… In all honesty I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much at a wedding. I remember meeting up with the couple a few months ago to talk about the wedding and getting a sense then that this was going to be a wedding to remember.
It’s no surprise that the Ritz was voted one of the Top 100 Wedding Venues in the UK by Wedding Magazine. It oozes charm and sophistication yet retains a very personal feeling. The staff really know how to look after their guests and will help to make your wedding day extra special.
The Painted Hall Wedding Photographer
The Painted Hall Wedding Photographer: When it comes to wedding venues it really has to take something extraordinary to beat the Painted Hall in the Old Royal Navy College in Greenwich. I remember walking into the Hall a few years ago, as a ‘tourist’ if you like and being totally fascinated by its magnificence. If you’re looking for a wedding venue with that wow factor this is it.
So you can imagine my excitement when Lianne and Andy commissioned me to photograph their wedding at the Painted Hall. The wedding was last Saturday (4th May 2013) and I am very proud to share some of the images I took on the day.

Charlton House in Greenwich Wedding Photography: I’m pretty lucky to have a couple of really nice wedding venues on my doorstep including Charlton House in Greenwich. It’s a very imposing Jacobean building in Charlton, London. Built in 1607-12 of red brick with stone dressing, and has an “E”-plan layout. The interior features a great hall, chapel, state dining room, saloon and gallery.
Another great thing is that the House is not open to the public, so perfect for weddings without masses of (non wedding) people walking through.
The Painted Hall Greenwich
The Painted Hall Greenwich - The Painted Hall in Greenwich which is often described as the finest dining hall in Europe has just been reopened to the public after having works to restore the paintings, you can see from the pictures what a magnificent venue this is and a beautiful back drop to the perfect wedding.
The last restoration was 50 years ago so the paintings had darkened from candle smoke and sweat throughout the years.
Port Lympne Mansion & Gardens Wedding Photography
Port Lympne Mansion & Gardens Wedding Photography Also known at the Aspinal Foundation Port Lympne is located deep in Kent; just sitting on the edge of the famous Wild Animal Park. In my job I see lots of wedding venues and although I visit the same venue many times often I shoot at a totally new venue for me… Until Billie and Alex asked me to photograph their wedding at Port Lympne I’d never been there so I was wondering what a venue so close to a zoo would be like. It’s certainly a very impressive wedding venue and and I can often tell in the first few minutes if it will be a good venue to shoot at… by that I mean lots of opportunities for creative wedding photography. Port Lympne, for a creative wedding photographer is pretty awesome.. inside the rooms are decorated like nothing I’ve seen before… Stunning murals of animals from all over the world… It really is something to be seen.

A Right Royal Greenwich Wedding by Gomes Photography: I never normally look at the weather forecast before a wedding but if I had it would have shown me one of those symbols which includes a bit of everything. Driving over to the Radisson Blu Edwardian New Providence Wharf Hotel in Canary Wharf to meet with Luci the weather was awesome, sun was shining and it was warm. Eltham Palace Wedding Photographer: There are wedding venues and then there are wedding venues, Eltham Palace is the latter. It really is an amazing Art Deco inspired building set within acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with incredible views across London. Also it has the added advantage of being moments from my own home so getting home after a long wedding is nice and easy.

Turkey Mill Weddings: It’s not often that I have a weekend free so when my good friend Peter Denness asked me so second shoot for him at a wedding at Turkey Mill in Kent I jumped at the chance. Having shot well over 100 weddings as the primary photographer it was nice being able to take a step back and second shoot.
Turkey Mill, sitting alongside the River Len is a very popular wedding venue in Kent. The venue sits in 9 acres of award winning, beautifully landscaped gardens which is awesome for wedding photography. Even in wet weather Turkey Mill is well suited for weddings.

Winter Wedding Photography By The Sea: I remember it was the Jubilee Weekend when I first met Laura and Tim and they asked me to photograph their wedding at East Quay in Whitstable Harbour Kent. We sat in a small pub and it felt like such a long time away as we spoke about their plans for their big day.
Their chosen wedding venue was East Quay in Whitstable Harbour which is situated on the beach itself and really is a unique wedding venue in Kent. The building was the original base for the Seasalter and Ham Fishery Company, and like the famous Oyster Stores, was situated on the sea-front so that the oyster companies could keep a watchful eye over their precious oyster beds.

IOD Club Pall Mall Wedding Fair: Last Sunday I exhibited at a wedding fair at the IOD Club in Pall Mall, hosted by Silver Lined Wedding Shows. I’m quite particular about doing wedding fairs and much prefer the smaller ones than the big National shows so this one one was perfect. Having already a photographed a wedding at the IOD Club I was excited about going back to the venue. It’s great picking up bookings and meeting new clients and listening to their wedding stories but also one of the big benefits of attending wedding fairs is networking with other wedding professionals.

Victoria Park Plaza Wedding Photography: Welcome to Naomi and Yemi’s big wedding, part two. Fresh from the fun and frolicks of Naomi and Yemi’s wedding at Westminster Town Hall the day before, I thought I knew what lay ahead of me on the big big day. Having met some of the couples close family and friends already I felt prepared.
There are two parts to a Nigerian Wedding, the first is the “traditional wedding” which is normally attended by a smaller number of guests, it’s sometimes to referred to as the engagement. The second wedding is the “white wedding”…attended by hundreds and sometimes thousands.

Westminster Town Hall Wedding Photography: What can I say about Naomi and Yemi? I really don’t know where to start…. Let’s try from the start and work our way through and hopefully I share with you this couples personality. Naomi contacted me back in September about her big Nigerian wedding over two days. The first day, which is this blog post, was for the main ceremony and was at the Westminster Town Hall in Marylebone. A small number of close family and friends were present to witness the couple tie the knot.

Weddings at the Ritz Hotel in London: Only a few weeks ago I was contacted by Cheryl to see if I was available to photograph her intimate weddings at the Ritz Hotel. I’m regularly called upon by the Ritz to photograph their special events including a private party for CHANEL and most recently photographing the rooms for the new Ritz wedding brochure.
The Ritz really is the benchmark for luxury hotels in London and what better surrounding to enjoy your wedding day. It’s not only the surroundings that make the Ritz special, the staff are quite simply amazing, and I’m just the photographer 
An Oxford and Cambridge Club Pall Mall Wedding
An Oxford and Cambridge Club Pall Mall Wedding: I know most of the wedding venues in London but have to admit Googling the Oxford and Cambridge Club in Pall Mall when Hyejung emailed me looking for a wedding photographer. I’ve photographed at the IOD Club in Pall Mall and regularly shoot at the Ritz hotel so was surprised not to have heard of this venue.
Set in the heart of London the Oxford and Cambridge club was formed in 1972. Its members are men and women, drawn exclusively from the alumni and senior staff of both universities.
Gay Marriage in the UK
Gay Marriage in the UK: Finally in the UK MP’s have approved legislation for same sex marriage in England and Wales. As a wedding photographer I see lots of couples getting married and have photographed a fair few civil partnerships and it’s great that all couples will enjoy equal marriage rights. OK so at this stage the bill has yet to go through the committee stage or through the Lords but with such a majority it should get through.
What they all have in common is two people who love each other committing themselves to each other.

Cooling Castle Barn Wedding Photographer: My first wedding of 2013 was at the exceptionally popular Cool Castle Barn near Rochester in Kent.
It was a typically cold winters day and for some reason I had decided not to bring a coat, why would anyone do that????? Anyway, as always my assistant (Peter Denness) and I arrived nice and early to have a look around.
Cooling Castle is a very popular wedding venue with bookings throughout the year but until now had escaped me so I was pleased to bring a bit of Gomes Photography magic to the venue J

Guildhall London Wedding Photographer: My very last wedding of 2012 was at the incredible twelfth century Guildhall in London. I am not surprised that Anjuli and James chose the Guildhall, which is situated in the heart of the City of London for their wedding reception. It really is one of the most impressive buildings I have photographed in. Not just that but the staff were absolutely amazing.
