The Royal Festival Hall in London Wedding Photography – Anna and Andy
On Saturday 28th April I was at the heart of the Southbank photographing the wedding of Anna and Andy at the Royal Festival Hall. The Royal Festival Hall really is a unique wedding venue in London with its great views of the House of Parliament and the Thames. Opened in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain the Hall is more commonly known as a performance venue than a wedding venue. However what a great wedding venue it is…
I met Andy and Anna at the Halls back in January where we chatted about their wedding photography requirements… Most of my couples want a mixture of reportage wedding photography with the a few groups shots and some fun relaxed posed shots and this is exactly what Andy and Anna were after too. I was with them on their wedding day for 5 hours which was enough time to get photos of guests arriving all the way through to the end of the speeches. In total Anna and Andy received 352 images.
To see all 352 images please click here, I have emailed the couple the password (hint: Grooms surname)
I would like to thank Anna and Andy for asking me to photograph their Royal Festival Hall Wedding and all of their family and friends who made me feel welcome on the day.
Here’s a selection of my favourite images from the day. Please feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Wedding Photography at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich – Shanshan and Charlie
Last week I was back at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich for my second wedding at the venue in 2012 to photograph the wedding of Shanshan and Charlie. The couple only contacted me a couple of months ago to photograph their Greenwich, London wedding and I was delighted when they chose me.
If you’re getting married at the Trafalgar Tavern it really is a fantastic choice as even if the weather isn’t great, the venue is flooded with beautiful light. Once again thanks to the amazing staff at the Trafalgar Tavern for their excellent hospitality.
When I met with Shanshan and Charlie they mentioned that they wanted natural documentary wedding photos combined with a few groups and posed shots. This is exactly my style of wedding photography, given freedom to capture the day as I see it.
Shanshan arrived very early at the Tavern which gave me plenty of time to get some beautiful natural bridal portraits… she was very lucky too as the rain held off. The ceremony was lovely with two readings to set the mood.
Following the ceremony, Shanshan, Charlie and I wandered around the Old Navy College grounds in Greenwich where we got some romantic shots, some fun natural-feeling images.
Here’s a selection of my favourite images from the day.. I hope you like them and please do feel free to comment.
If you’re getting married at the Trafalgar Tavern please do get in touch to discuss your wedding photography requirements.

Hindu and Swedish Wedding Photography in Central London – Mili and John
Last Saturday and Sunday I was in Central London to photograph the two day wedding celebrations of Mili and John. Saturday’s ceremony was at the Swedish Church in Harcourt Street, London followed on Sunday at the SHREE RAM MANDIR Hindu Temple in Southall.
This was the first Swedish wedding I have photographed and it was interesting seeing the cultural differences, although in the part very similar to the UK. The first and obvious difference is that Mili and John both walked down the aisle together. It was a lovely moment seeing them walking down the aisle together smiling at their family and friends. The Swedish church that Mili and John chose to get married is in Harcourt Street Central London. It really is a beautiful church inside with the words ‘Gud ar Karlek’ inscribed above the alter, this translates to ‘God is Love’
Sunday’s Hindu Celebrations took place at SHREE RAM MANDIR Hindu Temple in Southall. The Hindu ceremony takes about 2 hours to complete, with guests coming and going makes it feel like a very relaxed affair. I recently wrote an interesting blog on the Hindu Wedding Ceremony.
Thank you to both Mili and John who went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Here are some of my favourite photos from the day. I hope you like them and please feel free to comment.
I do like to post a lot of images on my blog as it gives a good feeling of the days events, rather than just posting one or two.

Trafalgar Tavern Wedding Photography – Vanessa and Mark
On Easter Sunday I was back at the Trafalgar Tavern to photograph the wedding of Vanessa and Mark. Having photographed three Trafalgar Tavern weddings in the last six months and with another four this year at the venue it is quickly becoming my second home. As I am wedding photographer based in the Royal Borough of Greenwich this is not a bad thing at all. I was delighted when the couple told me that they were getting married at the Trafalgar Tavern and they wanted me to document their day.
The Trafalgar Tavern really is steeped in history and according to their website it was a place where William Gladstone and Charles Dickens could be seen dining. If you’re going there for lunch I can highly recommend the fish and chips. It may not be what William and Charles ate but it’s what I had on Sunday.
On the first floor of the Trafalgar Tavern is the Nelson Banqueting Rooms that are used for the wedding ceremony and wedding reception. Wedding photography at the Trafalgar Tavern really is fantastic. The huge bay window floods the ceremony with natural light, this lets me keep the ISO settings relatively low in order to achieve crisp clean images. Another thing that I love about the Tavern is that everything is set up in advance so no manic room change around.
I thoroughly enjoyed Vanessa and Mark’s wedding, a lovely couple, great guests and a fantastic venue.
Here’s a selection of images from the day, I hope you like them. Please feel free to comment.

Tower of London Wedding Photography – Ali and Tom
I first met Ali and Tom last November, and I like always do before committing to a wedding, we met for a coffee and chat about their wedding day. When the couple told me they were getting married at the Tower of London I was very excited. This I not an opportunity that presents itself too often so I was thrilled when Ali and Tom asked me to photograph their wedding day. So the wedding ceremony at the Tower of London and the reception to be held at the Hilton Hotel in Docklands. I short boat ride down the Thames.
Being booked for a wedding at the Tower of London is a huge honour, as is being booked for any wedding. I consider myself to be extremely lucky to have a profession that I enjoy.
One of the challenges of winter wedding photography at the Tower of london is obviously the weather… The day itself, despite not being warm was OK. All of the important outdoor moments of the wedding day were dry, and that’s all you can really ask for.
As a wedding photographer the Tower of London is awesome, not only because of the fantastic surroundings and history but also the crowds of people cheering and wishing the couple congratulations.
As the couple chose this historic London wedding venue to get marred at, I wanted to make sure their Tower of London wedding photos lived up to their expectations.
Here are a few from the day… I hope you like them.

Central London Wedding Photography – Annabelle and Rafet
On Saturday 10th March 2012 I was with Annabelle and Rafet to photograph their central London wedding. The couple first got in touch with me back in November to discuss their wedding photography requirements. They had seen my website and liked my contemporary modern style of wedding photography. Many of the wedding venues in Central London are amazing for their stylized decor and modern furnishings… For me as a modern wedding photographer in London I was very excited when I met the couple at the Park Plaza Hotel in Victoria. This was to be the setting for their ceremony followed by the reception at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel (formerly the Hisperia Hotel) literally a stones throw away.
Annabelle specifically asked for me to take some photos of them on Westminster Bridge so whilst the 100 strong army of guests made their way to the Hilton we jumped into a taxi to head for the bridge. After parking up we walked a short way to the bridge and whilst on the walk I noticed some ‘exteme/free runners’ (feel free to correct me with the right name) summersaulting off the walls.. Check out the awesome photo in the blog…
Annabelle and Rafet are truly fantastic couple and I would like to thank them for asking me to photograph their day. I hope you like this preview of your photos…. Enjoy your honeymoon guys, you deserve it.
Big thanks to Kevin Brown and Peter Denness for your help on the day.

Central London and Greenwich Wedding Photography – Laura and Raymond
On the 18th Feb 2012 I was fortunate enough to be photographing the wedding in Central London of Laura and Raymond. The couple booked me last year after searching in Google for night-time wedding photographers in London and I am delighted they found my website.
When the couple told me that they were getting married at the All Souls Church, Langham Place followed by a meal at the exotic Levant restaurant off Wigmore street and then onto Old Royal Navy College in Greenwich for the wedding reception I knew this would be a wedding to remember.
Being booked to photograph a wedding in Central London that has two or three different locations is a challenge as I have to come with minimum equipment. However due to Laura and Raymond’s wedding being in February I needed most of my equipment as I knew the light would be very low.
As the couple chose some really magnificent venues in London to get married at, as always I wanted to make sure their wedding photos lived up to their expectations.
Here are some of my favourites from the day. I hope you like them and please feel free to leave a comment.

High Elms Manor Wedding Photography – Amanda and Paul
Private estate weddings are beautiful and this one at High Elms Manor in Hertfordshire was exceptional. Described as one of the finest and most dignified estates in the county, it was obvious why Amanda and Paul chose to hold their wedding reception at the manor.
Backing up only a couple of months I remember sitting in the garden on a glorious late summers afternoon with Amanda and Paul and going over their wedding day. Amanda’s kind, sweet nature was infectious and I couldn’t wait for their wedding day.
The day itself, much like that summers days, was beautiful with the sun beating down on the couple all day. I started the wedding photography coverage at the couples very stylish home where I was greeted with croissants and coffee, it doesn’t get much better than that. The girls were getting ready and there was this amazing feeling of excitement about the place.
I then made my way to the church to meet up with Paul who I can only describe as a gentleman. The emotional ceremony went well, after which we all made our way to the manor for the reception.
This day was truly wonderful and the family and friends invited were a great group to capture.
Enjoy these highlights of their wedding! Please feel free to comment.

Bearwood College Wedding Photography – Jessica and Chris
Bearwood College in Wokingham, just a short drive from central London was the setting for Jessica and Chris’ wedding last week. Jessica and Chris asked me to photograph their wedding back in April and from the moment we met in Winchester I knew this would be a fun, relaxed wedding, and it was just that.
On the day I met Jessica in her hotel and managed to get some ‘bride preparation’ photographs plus documented the smaller details from the day. We then moved on to St Catherine’s church for the ceremony and after the ceremony the reception was held at Bearwood College.
Jessica looked stunning in her dress and was so easy to photograph. Chris looked stunning in his dress too, but that’s another story.
He was wearing a kilt and the panic did set in for me when he mentioned what was underneath, apparently not a lot.
I would like to thank both Jessica and Chris for allowing me to photograph their wedding day and I wish them a wonderful honeymoon.
I hope you like the small selection of images from the wedding and please do feel free to comment.
Iain

Trafalgar Tavern Wedding Photography | Carly and Sasha
I really enjoy photographing weddings at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich London as it is quite simply a fantastic London wedding venue. Sitting on the banks of the Thames in Greenwich the Tavern has views of Canary Wharf, the O2 and of course historic Greenwich.
I was lucky enough to be at the Trafalgar Tavern again this time to photograph the wedding of Carly and Sasha. I met up with Carly and Sasha a few months ago to talk through their wedding day which started of with the church service held at Our Ladye Star of the Sea, also in Greenwich.
After the service we made our way up to the top of Greenwich Park to have some bride and groom portraits looking out across London. We were so lucky as the weather held for us and although not blessed with sun, the rain held off.
As with any Autumn wedding the photographer is always chasing the light and by the time we got back to the Trafalgar Tavern for the wedding breakfast darkness was on its way. Personally I love the challenge of Autumn and Winter weddings and find that although we have less light the quality of the light is wonderful.
I would like to thank both Carly and Sasha for allowing me to photograph their wedding day in Greenwich and wish them a wonderful honeymoon.
I hope you like the small selection of images from the wedding and please do feel free to comment.
