The Painted Hall Wedding Photographer: When it comes to wedding venues it really has to take something extraordinary to beat the Painted Hall in the Old Royal Navy College in Greenwich. I remember walking into the Hall a few years ago, as a ‘tourist’ if you like and being totally fascinated by its magnificence. If you’re looking for a wedding venue with that wow factor this is it.
So you can imagine my excitement when Lianne and Andy commissioned me to photograph their wedding at the Painted Hall. The wedding was last Saturday (4th May 2013) and I am very proud to share some of the images I took on the day.
Wedding photography at The Painted Hall in Greenwich is obviously aided by the rather stunning setting within the Hall but also outside in the grounds the views and landscapes lend them self perfectly to a mix of contemporary and modern wedding photography. As anyone who has seen my previous blogs will know I like to create a mix of big dramatic images alongside natural unposed reportage photographs of family and friends enjoying the day. The Old Royal Navy College was for me was being like a very hungry child in a very large sweet shop…. I could have stayed all night shooting.
Lianne and Andy’s wedding day was beautiful and carefully put together… everything from the venue to the cake (and not forgetting the wedding photographer) was carefully planned, the attention to detail was lovely to see… that said the day was also very relaxed.
I hope you enjoy the selection of photos from the day below. I would like to wish the couple a very happy future together and I genuinely look forward to meeting up soon.
A big thanks to the staff at the Painted Hall for running such a smooth ship plus my helpers on the day Peter Denness and Csaba ‘Chuck’ Grosz for all your help.
Now I’m no videographer so excuse the poor attempt but here’s a short clip take during the reception.
