Weddings at Addington Palace: Earlier in the month I was at the stunning Addington Palace in Surrey to photograph the wedding of Jane and Nigel. The day was a mix of sunshine and rain. I think the couple were fortunate that most of the day was in fact dry, which for this Summer is quite a surprise.
It was back in November when Jane and Nigel contacted me to photograph their wedding. In fact the ceremony was in St Edmund’s Beckenham, literally a stones throw from where I was born back in 1975.
On the day I met up with Nigel in a cosy pub just around the corner to get some shots of the pre-wedding celebrations. After a short while I made my way to the church for the ceremony. The ceremony itself was fantastic and the Father really made it a fun service.
After a big group shot on the stairs I drove to Addington Palace for the wedding reception. The Great Hall was looking beautiful for the meal. It’s a big room with an exquisite French chandelier, hand-carved architrave, and silk wall coverings. Standing proudly in the room is an imposing fireplace which is a fantastic backdrop for the wedding reception photos. The staff on the day were very accommodating and friendly and I would like to thank them for their hospitality.
I could tell that Jane and Nigel were really enjoying their special day and they had done a great job arranging everything. I bet when I speak to them when they return from their honeymoon they will tell me that the whole day was a blur. That’s why the wedding photography is so important.
I left the couple dancing away to the Ceilidh band after 8 hours of wedding photography coverage.
I always like to share some of the images from the day on my blog and I welcome any comments or feedback. Please also feel free to post the blog on your favourite social media site.

Some nice posed gold course shots there – especially like the use of the water feature.
