A London and Kent Wedding: Catherine and Simon contacted me last year asking if I could photograph their wedding at the stunning Riverhill Himalayan Gardens in Kent. I was lucky enough to photograph one of the first wedding receptions at Riverhill in the Summer last year and I was very impressed. Set within the Kent countryside, Riverhill enjoys stunning views all the way to the Weald of Kent. That in itself is wonderful, but there is a certain charm and elegance about Riverhill that few Kent wedding venues match up to. I shoot a lot of weddings and Riverhill is up there as one of my favourite places to visit.
My day started with some bridal preparation photography at a family friends home in Dulwich, a short drive from the wedding ceremony, Christ’s Chapel in Dulwich Village. To say the day was hot would be a massive, huge and enormous understatement… It was roasting but made a lovely change to the wet and windy start to the year. My assistant (Chuck) and I were welcomed very warmly by Catherine and her Bridesmaids.
Although I show a lot of casually posed with dramatic lighting images on my website, in fact the majority of the day I am photographing in a documentary style. Photographing moments as they unfold, as they happen. Essentially I am telling the story of the wedding day but I am a strong believer that the photography is as important part of the wedding as the cake, dress and flowers… Hence why I enjoy borrowing my couples for a few minutes to create some unique looking portraits.
I have put together a small selection of images from Catherine and Simon’s wedding day which I hope you enjoy looking at. If you were a guest at the wedding, or just a lover of wedding photography please feel free to leave a comment.
Finally, if you are a bride and groom and thinking of getting married at Riverhill please do get in touch so we can discuss your day in more detail.
