Birmingham Wedding Photographer Ok so no I’m not really a Birmingham wedding photographer but I was asked to photograph a wedding in Birmingham. Sutton Coldfields actually and it really was a great day. I was recommended to Laura and Simon by Stephanie and James whose wedding I photographed a year ago at Westerham Golf Club. It was genuinely great to meet up with Stephanie and James and I thank them for the way they tell as many people about me as possible…
As Laura and Simon live quite some way from me we decided before the wedding to catch up via SKYPE… this was nice , in 21st century way. We chatted about their plans for the wedding day and what they wanted from their wedding photos. All of my couples book me for my mix of reportage wedding photography and the more stylised portraits that I do. I explained to the couple that I promise to keep them from their guests for a short a time as possible, perhaps 10-15 minutes. This they were keen on.
On the wedding day I arrived at the church nice and early and spoke to the Vicar to find out the dos and don’ts…. I always conform to the Churches wishes when it comes to the photography. I was allowed to shoot from the back of the church and the sides, I behaved myself. I wont lie though the temptation is always there to run up and do a lovely shot from the front, but alas I refrained from doing that.
After the service we made our way to Wishaw Country Sports for the wedding reception. The hospitality shown by the staff at Wishaw was quite something and I would like to thank them all for the amazing food. It really was amazing, oh and the Apply pie…. damn.
We did the normal group shots in a beautiful location before doing some more fun bride and groom portraits. The day came to an end for me just after the speeches so I said goodbye to Laura and Simon, not before sneaking one last cool photograph in and then headed back to the smoke.
I’d like to thank Laura and Simon for taking Stephanie and James’s word and trusting me to photograph the most special day of your lives…. Meeting your family and friends was great.
Here are a few images from the day, I hope you like them as much as I do…
