Finsbury Old Town Hall Wedding Photography: I was really excited when I first got an email from Conor and Catherine back in 2011 about photographing their Finsbury Old Town Hall Wedding in London. I sensed that this had all of the hallmarks of a big grand London wedding, and they were looking for a wedding photographer to document the whole day.
We met up in Central London and had a glass of wine together to discuss the day. We discussed their requirements I was delighted when they asked me to photograph them getting married at Finsbury Old Town Hall.
On the wedding day I started out at Catherine s parents home to photograph the bride getting ready. I had a very warm welcome from Catherine’s parents which was lovely. We had a little chat before I headed upstairs to start the photography. Often in hotel rooms the light can be quite poor and so I am not afraid to use my own light. Fortunately Catherine’s makeup artist had positioned her right in front of large bay window and the light coming in was just perfect.
I was with them for about an hour before heading off to church which today was St Johns Church, Duncan Terrace In London. A fabulous Catholic church just behind Angel Tube. We waited and waited for Catherine to arrive and considering she was in her dress very early and was extremely keen to get to the church I was starting to worry. Then I heard from one of the bestmen than in fact her car had broken down on route. Eventually she made it to the church, still smiling and looking completely chilled. The ceremony went well and straight after I took the couple down to the canal where they often go to read a book together.
No more than 15 minutes later we headed off to the Finsbury Old Town Hall for the wedding reception. What amazing wedding venue the Finsbury Old Town Hall is. The large hall is simply stunning and the perfect setting for a London wedding.
