Gay Marriage in the UK: Finally in the UK MP’s have approved legislation for same sex marriage in England and Wales. As a wedding photographer I see lots of couples getting married and have photographed a fair few civil partnerships and it’s great that all couples will enjoy equal marriage rights. OK so at this stage the bill has yet to go through the committee stage or through the Lords but with such a majority it should get through.
What they all have in common is two people who love each other committing themselves to each other.
Gay, straight whatever, my belief is that no law of any land should stop two people from expressing themselves by way of marriage. It’s wonderful that the UK has joined Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Sweden in legalising gay marriage.
There are still a few inequalities that I don’t understand around divorce but as a wedding photographer we don’t mention the D word….
