Greenwich Wedding Photography | Helen and Russell – I recently had the pleasure of photographing Helen and Russell’s wedding at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, a venue I know very well. I met up with Helen and her bridal party at the Clarendon Hotel in Blackheath for some getting ready shots, as well as some informal family group photos. There was a nice relaxed feeling in the room, which was no surprise as having met Helen a couple of times prior to the wedding I knew this was going to be a lovely wedding.
Having got to the Trafalgar I had a few minutes to say hello to Russell, who looked quite nervous… before Helen arrived.
I positioned myself as I normally do at the front of ceremony room, which in the Trafalgar Tavern’s Nelson Banqueting room is awesome as it has these huge bay windows which floods the room with natural light. It always makes me smile though as these big windows plays havoc with the guests camera’s and I hear the guests saying how all of their photos are in silhouette. If I have time I will try to explain to the guests why their camera has decided to do that.. normally I’ve bored them within a few minutes and they wander off.
Helen and Russell truly are a lovely couple and I felt very comfortable in their company. They were absolutely great in front of the camera and made my job a breeze. I was genuinely touched when Russell thanked me during the speech, it was such a nice gesture.
As you can see from the images below the majority of the wedding day coverage is very natural and in a documentary style. Personally I love clean fresh images and this is the reason my clients book me. I love shooting the bridal and groom portraits using a mix of just natural light as well as using ‘big flash’ for a more dramatic feel.
Anyway, that;’s enough of me talking, it’s time to enjoy some photos…. Please do leave a comment, they are always very welcome and gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling when I read them
