A Stunning Surrey Wedding

A Stunning Surrey WeddingA Stunning Surrey Wedding – Heidi and Tim chose to have a traditional church wedding at the family church in Thornton Heath, followed by a stunning celebration afterwards at the Surrey National Golf Club. Heidi had contacted me, asking me to be their wedding photographer, after seeing the photographs I had provided at her friend’s recent wedding. I was familiar with the Surrey National Golf Club, and knew how heavily the venue focuses on its lush, green, rural location, so I thought it may be quite challenging to photograph a winter wedding here, but I had nothing to worry about.

Taking on the role of a wedding photographer is a true privilege whatever the weather and wherever the venue. While the surrounding countryside around Surrey National Golf Club is spectacular, the Fountain Suite is absolutely beautiful, and even if the weather didn’t allow for outside shots, I knew I’d be able to create some amazing pictures using the interior decor alone as fascinating backdrops. As it happens, the weather was on our side on the day of Heidi and Tim’s wedding, so I was able to combine the beauty of the Fountain Suite with some of the breath-taking scenery of the woods surrounding the Gold Club.

The Fountain Suite at the Surrey National Golf Club is a wonderful venue because it’s so versatile. Designed quite basically, this venue could play host to a barn-type wedding just as easily as it could to a vibrant, colourful, and extravagant Asian wedding. Heidi and Tim opted for something in between. They played up the traditional style of the Fountain Suite, utilising the pretty exposed brickwork and wooden beams, but adding their own playful, contemporary touch, such as offering around a big bowl of multi-coloured retro sweets. I could provide wedding photography at the Fountain Suite every day of the year and never see two settings the same.

While Heidi and Tim booked the Fountain Suite only for their intimate wedding, the adjoining Terrace Room can be opened up to create a larger, more spacious atmosphere for larger parties. This once again shows the versatility of the Surrey National Golf Course as a wedding venue – it can transform into whatever you need it to be.
