Weddings at The Caledonian Club Belgravia – Founded in 1891 the Caledonian Club is an exclusive private members club situated right in the heart of Belgravia, just opposite Buckingham Palace. What was really great about having such a prestigious venue was enjoying exclusive access on the day. Not only use of the building but also use of Belgrave Square Gardens. It’s a very romantic wedding venue with grand architecture both inside and out.
Sarah and Martin chose the Caledonian Club as their London wedding venue and it really was a fantastic place to photograph. I met Sarah on the morning of her wedding at the Halkin by COMO Hotel which is a luxury hotel in the city’s Belgravia district, in fact a stones throw from the Caledonian Club. So it was the perfect setting for bridal prep.
After a quick trip to the club to meet up with Martin I jumped aboard the bus to the ceremony, which was at the Holy Trinity Sloane Square Church. Churches normally have quite tricky lighting for wedding photographers but it was good to see that this Church had nicely balanced lighting, that really makes our job easier.
After the ceremony we all headed back to the Caledonian Club. Myself, Sarah and Martin, parents and the bridal party had a quick diversion to Belgrave Square Gardens to get some photos. We were really battling against low light and rain but I am very happy with how they came out.
A big thanks to Sarah and Martin for asking me to photograph their wedding at the The Caledonian Club. Also thank you to the management and staff at the Club for their warm and friendly welcome.
As usual I have a small selection of images from the day which I hope you enjoy.
