Award Winning Wedding Photography

Award Winning Wedding PhotographyAs a London wedding photographer, I’m often booked to work the same locations time and time again, so I’m constantly trying to keep the creative juices flowing and looking for new ways to create unique images. No two wedding albums should ever be the same – the photographs that are taken shouldn’t be similar just because they’re taken in the same place, they should be different because they’re based upon the bride and groom’s personality, and the specific weather conditions of the day. Even photographing a venue I’ve worked at 10 times before, I never quite know what to expect, and sometimes I even manage to surprise myself with a rare shot.

A Stunning Surrey Wedding

A Stunning Surrey WeddingA Stunning Surrey Wedding – Heidi and Tim chose to have a traditional church wedding at the family church in Thornton Heath, followed by a stunning celebration afterwards at the Surrey National Golf Club. Heidi had contacted me, asking me to be their wedding photographer, after seeing the photographs I had provided at her friend’s recent wedding. I was familiar with the Surrey National Golf Club, and knew how heavily the venue focuses on its lush, green, rural location, so I thought it may be quite challenging to photograph a winter wedding here, but I had nothing to worry about.

Weddings at The Caledonian Club Belgravia

Weddings at The Caledonian Club BelgraviaWeddings at The Caledonian Club Belgravia – Founded in 1891 the Caledonian Club is an exclusive private members club situated right in the heart of Belgravia, just opposite Buckingham Palace.  What was really great about having such a prestigious venue was enjoying exclusive access on the day. Not only use of the building but also use of Belgrave Square Gardens.  It’s a very romantic wedding venue with grand architecture both inside and out.

Hall Place Wedding Photographer

HALL PLACE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERHall Place Wedding Photographer – Hall Place in Bexley Kent is a stunning fine Grade I listed country house built in 1537. Quite simply any couple getting married in Kent and looking for a  wedding venue should make an appointment with the Hall Place. It really is that nice.

There is something very regal about Hall Place, yet it isn’t over the top, if that makes sense. I think Hall Place can be best described as classically stunning.

Hindu Wedding Photography | Kiran and Samir

Hindu wedding photographyHindu Wedding Photography – I was absolutely thrilled and delighted to be asked to be the honorary Asian wedding photographer at Kiran and Samir’s Hindu wedding. I have specialised in Hindu wedding photography before, but this was without doubt one of the most intimate and loving of Hindu weddings I’ve had the pleasure of being involved with.

Kiran, who is originally from Canada, was to wed her Liverpudlian fiancé Samir at Duffield House in Buckinghamshire with just 60 of their closest family and friends in attendance.

An Autumn Wedding at Turkey Mill in Kent

Turkey Mill WeddingAn Autumn Wedding at Turkey Mill in Kent – Turkey Mill in Maidstone, Kent, set as it is in the Garden of England and featuring 9 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, made a perfect backdrop to my role as wedding photographer for Gemma and Paul.

The setting could not have been more perfect. The Turkey Mill Orangery has managed to eclipse the beauty and splendour of this part of England, situated alongside the River Len and encapsulating a boathouse and pond, gushing waterfalls and vast, sweeping lawns. Even though the weather was not on our side for Gemma and Paul’s wedding day, not even the lashing rain could detract from the magical location and if anything, the low light and clouds made for a more dramatic atmosphere.

Destination Wedding Photographer | Sydney Opera House  –  As a wedding photographer I absolutely love what I do and feel very honoured to be asked to play such a major role in what is arguably, one of the best day of someone’s life. Memories are often brought back to life with good photography and that is what I try to capture. I want my photographs to each tell a story and this particular wedding made a great story!

A Relaxed Wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond | Mr and Mrs X

Cutting of the cakeA Relaxed Wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond – Kelly and Damian first got in touch with me a couple of weeks before their wedding at Pembroke Lodge, as it was a midweek wedding it was lucky that I was available. I had four weddings in seven days, three of which were in Richmond.

I’ve photographed a wedding before at Pembroke Lodge but never in the Belvedere room. What a pleasure it is to photograph in the Belvedere , the lighting is simply perfect as you can see from the first image below.

An Amazing Indian and Nigerian Wedding – Laavanya and Ken

An Amazing Indian and Nigerian Wedding in LondonAn Amazing Indian and Nigerian Wedding – Lots of colour, amazing food and a very relaxed vibe…. that’s how I described Laavanya and Ken’s wedding reception when I got home and shared the story of the day.  The couple were officially married the week before so my job was to capture the reception celebrations which was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel near Bond Street.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing many Indian weddings and a few Nigerian weddings and to see both colourful and vibrant cultures combine was really very cool.

Notting Hill Wedding Photography | Suzie and Alex at Beach Blanket Babylon

Beach Blanket Babylon weddingsNotting Hill Wedding Photography | Suzie and Alex at Beach Blanket Babylon – It’s been over 10 days since I last blogged a wedding, I can only apologise for the wait…

It’s been a very busy 2013 for me and the summer weddings have kept me from all sorts of mischief. So today I am very excited to blog the wedding of Suzie and Alex who were married at Chelsea Town Hall, followed by the reception at the extremely cool Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill. The couple had their first date at Beach Blanket so it was a fitting venue for their wedding reception.

Richmond Wedding Photography

Richmond Wedding PhotographyRichmond Wedding Photography with Nimra and Ahmed – On a Sunny day in August, Nimra and Ahmed celebrated their wedding at the Richmond Hill Hotel.

I’d met with the couple a few weeks before to talk through their day and to get an understanding of their photography wishes. Nimra had seen my website and particularly liked the dramatic sunset shots and was very keen to have photos just like this. I could certainly do my part but we were all hoping for a sunset to make everything perfect.  We certainly did have an amazing sunset and we were lucky enough to catch the last few minutes of it, as it stretched across the West London sky.

Helen and John’s Amazing Wedding at High Rocks in Kent

Wedding Photography at High RocksWedding Photography at High Rocks | Helen and John – There we are, myself, my assistant (Ernie), Helen and John perched on top of one of the Rocks at the awesome High Rocks in Kent, just as the sun was setting, when Helen tells me why she booked me. She said that they wanted someone that was going to offer them a fun experience, not just your average wedding photography. This was such a nice thing to hear, it almost made me forget the sheer drops either side of where I was standing…. almost, bit not quite.

Greenwich Wedding Photography | Helen and Russell

GREENWICH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHYGreenwich Wedding Photography | Helen and Russell – I recently had the pleasure of photographing Helen and Russell’s wedding at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, a venue I know very well. I met up with Helen and her bridal party at the Clarendon Hotel in Blackheath for some getting ready shots, as well as some informal family group photos. There was a nice relaxed feeling in the room, which was no surprise as having met Helen a couple of times prior to the wedding I knew this was going to be a lovely wedding.

Barnaby + Rosanna | Dulwich College Wedding

weddings at dulwich collegeBarnaby + Rosanna | Dulwich College WeddingA beautiful, but not too hot day (thank you) at Dulwich College was the setting for Barnaby and Rosanna wedding. I first met Barnaby and Rosanna in a coffee shop in Victoria after they found my website on Google and they got in touch after seeing my images. I always like to meet my clients before their wedding as it gives us a chance to get to know each other. I think it’s one of the most important elements of being a successful wedding photographer. I hope that I put my clients at ease and help them to realise that their wedding day is about them, not just about the photography.

Berkeley Castle Wedding Photography

2013-08-11_0039Berkeley Castle Wedding Photography. Only last week I was in Gloucestershire to photograph Anna and Jehad’s wedding at the stunning Berkeley Castle.

Berkeley Castle is a breathtaking medieval Castle set within stunning grounds, it really is the fairytale wedding venue. Owned by  Berkeley family for over 850 years you really get a sense of stepping back in time when you walk into the Castle.

Leeds Castle Wedding Photographer

leeds castle wedding photographerLeeds Castle Wedding Photographerthere are some venues, that for reasons I cannot explain, are still on my ‘most wanted’ list… Leeds Castle was one of them. I am so pleased to say “was”… so when Kashpal and Amanda contacted me, earlier this year about their wedding at Leeds castle in Kent I was hoping my diary was free on that day, and it was….

As a wedding venue, I’d say there are probably few better in the UK than Leeds Castle. Set within the still waters of the moat and in 500 acres of gardens it is an ideal romantic setting for a Castle wedding. As a wedding photographer I would also say how helpful and friendly the staff are…

A London and Kent Wedding

A London and Kent WeddingA London and Kent Wedding: Catherine and Simon contacted me last year asking if I could photograph their wedding at the stunning Riverhill Himalayan Gardens in Kent.  I was lucky enough to photograph one of the first wedding receptions at Riverhill in the Summer last year and I was very impressed.  Set within the Kent countryside, Riverhill enjoys stunning views all the way to the Weald of Kent. That in itself is wonderful, but there is a certain charm and elegance about Riverhill that few Kent wedding venues match up to. I shoot a lot of weddings and Riverhill is up there as one of my favourite places to visit.

A Beautiful Greenwich Wedding

A Beautiful Greenwich WeddingA Beautiful Greenwich Wedding is the best way to describe Joanna and Vinay’s wedding. On a blistering hot day the couple arrived together at the Ladye Star of the Sea Church in Greenwich to meet their guests. Rarely do I get an opportunity to photograph a couple before the ceremony so this was treat for me.

Joanna and Vinay’s wedding photography coverage was mainly shot in a documentary style but they also wanted a few of my signature wedding photos. My signature shot  incorporates the sun and the sky to give the photo a very dramatic feel. The couple made my job much easier as they were very natural in front of the camera and when they were together were very loving towards each other.

A beautiful boutique hotel wedding in Kent

boutique hotel wedding in KentA beautiful boutique hotel wedding in Kent

Gill and Gary were married at the stunning St Marks Church in Tunbridge Wells on a day that quite simply didn’t know if it wanted to rain or shine. What was great, however, was how St Marks Church had really thought about the importance of the photography and created lighting that not only complimented the church but was perfectly balanced for wedding photography.

Trafalgar Tavern Greenwich Wedding Photography

TRAFALGAR TAVERN GREENWICH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHYTrafalgar Tavern Greenwich Wedding Photography Clare & Paul: and the story goes something like this. I bumped into Clare and Paul simply by chance… I was at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich last year getting ready to photograph a wedding when they came into the Nelson Banqueting Rooms to have a look for their own wedding. We got chatting and I handed them a business card…. a few months later Paul got in touch and their search for a wedding photographer was done  😎
