Weddings at The Caledonian Club Belgravia – Founded in 1891 the Caledonian Club is an exclusive private members club situated right in the heart of Belgravia, just opposite Buckingham Palace. What was really great about having such a prestigious venue was enjoying exclusive access on the day. Not only use of the building but also use of Belgrave Square Gardens. It’s a very romantic wedding venue with grand architecture both inside and out.

Hindu Wedding Photography – I was absolutely thrilled and delighted to be asked to be the honorary Asian wedding photographer at Kiran and Samir’s Hindu wedding. I have specialised in Hindu wedding photography before, but this was without doubt one of the most intimate and loving of Hindu weddings I’ve had the pleasure of being involved with.
Kiran, who is originally from Canada, was to wed her Liverpudlian fiancé Samir at Duffield House in Buckinghamshire with just 60 of their closest family and friends in attendance.
Getting to Know You
Destination Wedding Photographer | Sydney Opera House – As a wedding photographer I absolutely love what I do and feel very honoured to be asked to play such a major role in what is arguably, one of the best day of someone’s life. Memories are often brought back to life with good photography and that is what I try to capture. I want my photographs to each tell a story and this particular wedding made a great story!
Ritz Wedding Photography: Luciana and Sebastian were married at the Ritz Hotel in London and chose the Palace of Versailles styled Marie Antoinette Suite for the ceremony. The couple chose the Ritz for its magnificent architecture and decorations and wanted their wedding images to reflect the beauty of the building. After the ceremony we made our way down to the stunning Ritz Casino before heading back to the Ritz and into what can only be described as one of the most stunning dining rooms in the UK, the William Kent Room. Decorated in the Italian Renaissance style this room was perfect for Luciana and Sebastians wedding breakfast.
Weddings at the Ritz in London: So where do I start with Tony and Pariena’s wedding at the Ritz last week… In all honesty I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much at a wedding. I remember meeting up with the couple a few months ago to talk about the wedding and getting a sense then that this was going to be a wedding to remember.
It’s no surprise that the Ritz was voted one of the Top 100 Wedding Venues in the UK by Wedding Magazine. It oozes charm and sophistication yet retains a very personal feeling. The staff really know how to look after their guests and will help to make your wedding day extra special.
Charlton House in Greenwich Wedding Photography: I’m pretty lucky to have a couple of really nice wedding venues on my doorstep including Charlton House in Greenwich. It’s a very imposing Jacobean building in Charlton, London. Built in 1607-12 of red brick with stone dressing, and has an “E”-plan layout. The interior features a great hall, chapel, state dining room, saloon and gallery.
Another great thing is that the House is not open to the public, so perfect for weddings without masses of (non wedding) people walking through.
Weddings at the Ritz Hotel in London: Only a few weeks ago I was contacted by Cheryl to see if I was available to photograph her intimate weddings at the Ritz Hotel. I’m regularly called upon by the Ritz to photograph their special events including a private party for CHANEL and most recently photographing the rooms for the new Ritz wedding brochure.
The Ritz really is the benchmark for luxury hotels in London and what better surrounding to enjoy your wedding day. It’s not only the surroundings that make the Ritz special, the staff are quite simply amazing, and I’m just the photographer 🙂
An Oxford and Cambridge Club Pall Mall Wedding: I know most of the wedding venues in London but have to admit Googling the Oxford and Cambridge Club in Pall Mall when Hyejung emailed me looking for a wedding photographer. I’ve photographed at the IOD Club in Pall Mall and regularly shoot at the Ritz hotel so was surprised not to have heard of this venue.
Set in the heart of London the Oxford and Cambridge club was formed in 1830. Its members are men and women, drawn exclusively from the alumni and senior staff of both universities.
Guildhall London Wedding Photographer: My very last wedding of 2012 was at the incredible twelfth century Guildhall in London. I am not surprised that Anjuli and James chose the Guildhall, which is situated in the heart of the City of London for their wedding reception. It really is one of the most impressive buildings I have photographed in. Not just that but the staff were absolutely amazing.
Private Party Photographer in London: I love photographing weddings but also I really enjoy photographing at private parties and special events. I like to mix up a reportage style to capture the mood of the party with beautiful lighting for a more ‘posed’ glamorous feel.
As most parties take place indoors with little natural light I like to balance the ambient light to retain the feel and warmth of the surroundings with subtle soft lighting to make the person I’m photographing pop out of the image.
Mayfair Wedding Photographer: This year I have photographed many many weddings and I can honestly say I have enjoyed all of them. They have all been very different, from Castles in Kent to boutique hotels in central London.
However what makes a wedding enjoyable for me thou isn’t the venue, it’s the people. That may sound like a cliché but it is so very true. It’s very humbling to be asked to photograph a couples special day and then to become friends with them after makes it for me.
Greek Wedding Photographer London: Huge amounts of fun, minimum posing and zero stress is what challenges the preconceived idea and dare I say it stereotypical wedding photographer. Having to shoot endless amounts of groups shots and getting couples to pose in silly positions would drive me nuts so I’m pleased to attract like minded couples who simply want a stress free wedding photography experience.
More often than not I am booked 6-12 months before the wedding however every now and then I’m booked at the last minute. Anna and Peter’s wedding was very last minute, I met them on the Saturday and photographed their fabulous Greek wedding the very next day. Unfortunately their original wedding photographer was taken ill and called me up on the off chance of being available, which I was.
The Ritz London Wedding Photographer: As a wedding photographer in London there are certain venues that you really look forward to photographing a wedding at. The Ritz Hotel in London is one such venue.
The Ritz is a truly magnificent venue to get married perhaps one of the best wedding venues in London. I have soft spot for the Ritz as it’s where my Dad works as the resident pianist. For those of you who have enjoyed afternoon tea at the Ritz or a meal in the restaurant chances are you have listen to my dad playing the piano. He has been at the Ritz for over 15 years and is a favourite of many of the staff and guests.
Asian Hindu Wedding Photography in London: Quite simply I love photographing Asian Hindu wedding ceremonies. The colours, the detail and the food which I am always invited to share with the couple and their family and friends. So I was absolutely delighted when Barathy and Jon asked me to be their London Hindu Wedding Photographer as well as their Kent Wedding Photographer.
As I have good experience photographing Hindu wedding ceremonies in London I knew what to expect, fast pace, exhilarating and exhausting… just how I like it and Barathy and Jon’s Hindu wedding was no exception.
116 Pall Mall IOD Club Wedding Photography: I love wedding venues in London and they don’t come much grander than the IOD Club 116 Pall Mall.
116 Pall Mall is just a stone’s throw away from Trafalgar square in the heart of the west end, this being one of my favourite areas in the country, the building is grade I listed so as you can image it is truly magnificent for wedding photography.
Mark and Novi asked me to be their London Wedding Photographer about 6 months ago and I was buzzing with excitement when I saw the venue. Novo already pre-warned me that her bridesmaids were not camera shy, and she wasn’t lying.
Eltham Palace Weddings: Just a week ago I was photographing Barathy and Jons wedding at Eltham Palace in sunny South London. Eltham Palace is a mixture of a more recently built 1930’s art deco inspired private house and the Great Hall, built in the 1470’s. This is a seriously impressive wedding venue in London. There are photo opportunities everywhere and it was real pleasure to be asked by the couple to be their Eltham Palace wedding photographer.
For the photographers who read my blog posts, Barathy and Jons’ wedding was shot on the Canon 1Dx and the Canon 5DMark 3. Wedding photography with the 1DX is amazing and I am so lucky to use Canons flagship camera.
Wedding photography at Eltham Palace by Gomes Photography
Last Sunday I was at the historic wedding venue Eltham Palace in South London, to meet up with Barathy and Jon for their pre-wedding shoot. The couple decided on South London wedding venue due to its stunning 1930 Art Deco interior and the wonderful Great Hall which will be the setting for their wedding breakfast.
Built next to the remains of Eltham Palace, the childhood home of Henry VIII this really has to be one of the finest wedding venues in London. The gardens are stunning with views across London; I have to admit my imagination is already taking over with what I can do on the day with the wedding photos.
Hall Place and Gardens in Kent Wedding Photography: Hall Place and Gardens in Kent Wedding Photography is great however sometimes, just sometimes the weather is so bad on a wedding day that outdoor photographs simply isn’t going to happen. The jubilee weekend in London was one of those weekends. For Louise and Brandon whose wedding I photographed at the stunning Hall Place and Gardens the weather was deeply disappointing. So in true style we got together a few days later, when the weather had cheered up and did some outdoor photographs.
Brandon and Louise were keen to get back into their wedding outfits for an hours shoot.
Finsbury Old Town Hall Wedding Photography: I was really excited when I first got an email from Conor and Catherine back in 2011 about photographing their Finsbury Old Town Hall Wedding in London. I sensed that this had all of the hallmarks of a big grand London wedding, and they were looking for a wedding photographer to document the whole day.
We met up in Central London and had a glass of wine together to discuss the day. We discussed their requirements I was delighted when they asked me to photograph them getting married at Finsbury Old Town Hall.
Drapers Hall Wedding Photography by Gomes Photography
Back in July last year I was contacted by Dennis Surgeon, a leading UK Toastmaster about photographing his daughters wedding at the stunning Drapers Hall in London. Dennis explained that Abby, his daughter would be getting married at the Sir Christopher Wren designed St Lawrence Jewry Guildhall Yard in London which is the official church of the Lord Mayor of London. The wedding reception was to be at Drapers Hall in the City of London.
