Hindu Wedding Photography | Kiran and Samir

Hindu wedding photographyHindu Wedding Photography – I was absolutely thrilled and delighted to be asked to be the honorary Asian wedding photographer at Kiran and Samir’s Hindu wedding. I have specialised in Hindu wedding photography before, but this was without doubt one of the most intimate and loving of Hindu weddings I’ve had the pleasure of being involved with.

Kiran, who is originally from Canada, was to wed her Liverpudlian fiancé Samir at Duffield House in Buckinghamshire with just 60 of their closest family and friends in attendance.

Leeds Castle Wedding Photographer

leeds castle wedding photographerLeeds Castle Wedding Photographerthere are some venues, that for reasons I cannot explain, are still on my ‘most wanted’ list… Leeds Castle was one of them. I am so pleased to say “was”… so when Kashpal and Amanda contacted me, earlier this year about their wedding at Leeds castle in Kent I was hoping my diary was free on that day, and it was….

As a wedding venue, I’d say there are probably few better in the UK than Leeds Castle. Set within the still waters of the moat and in 500 acres of gardens it is an ideal romantic setting for a Castle wedding. As a wedding photographer I would also say how helpful and friendly the staff are…

Hertfordshire Wedding Photography at Down Hall

Hertfordshire Wedding PhotographyHertfordshire Wedding Photography at Down Hall. Just last weekend I was at the historic Country House in Hertfordshire, Down Hall which is located in the breathtaking beauty of the Essex/Hertfordshire Countryside. A short drive from Central London this really is a fantastic wedding venue. I was at Down Hall for the wedding of Jocelyn and Stuart who’d contacted me back in January and commissioned me to photograph their May wedding day.

Weddings in the UK will always be like rolling a dice when it comes to the weather and as UK Wedding Photographer I’m used to dealing with all extremes. Jocelyn and Stuart were actually very lucky as despite some heavy showers in the morning the Sun appeared around lunchtime and stayed out for the rest of the day.

Westminster Town Hall Wedding Photography

Westminster Town Hall Wedding Photography: What can I say about Naomi and Yemi? I really don’t know where to start….  Let’s try from the start and work our way through and hopefully I share with you this couples personality. Naomi contacted me back in September about her big Nigerian wedding over two days. The first day, which is this blog post, was for the main ceremony and was at the Westminster Town Hall in Marylebone. A small number of close family and friends were present to witness the couple tie the knot.

Gay Marriage in the UK

Gay Marriage in the UKGay Marriage in the UK: Finally in the UK MP’s have approved legislation for same sex marriage in England and Wales.  As a wedding photographer I see lots of couples getting married and have photographed a fair few civil partnerships and it’s great that all couples will enjoy equal marriage rights. OK so at this stage the bill has yet to go through the committee stage or through the Lords but with such a majority it should get through.

What they all have in common is two people who love each other committing themselves to each other.

Cooling Castle Barn Wedding Photographer

Cooling Castle Barn Wedding PhotographerCooling Castle Barn Wedding Photographer: My first wedding of 2013 was at the exceptionally popular Cool Castle Barn near Rochester in Kent.

It was a typically cold winters day and for some reason I had decided not to bring a coat, why would anyone do that?????  Anyway, as always my assistant (Peter Denness) and I arrived nice and early to have a look around.

Cooling Castle is a very popular wedding venue with bookings throughout the year but until now had escaped me so I was pleased to bring a bit of Gomes Photography magic to the venue J

Swedish Wedding Photography

Swedish Wedding PhotographySwedish Wedding Photography: Last Saturday and Sunday I was in Central London to photograph the two day wedding celebrations of Mili and John. Saturday’s ceremony was at the Swedish Church in Harcourt Street, London followed on Sunday at the SHREE RAM MANDIR Hindu Temple in Southall.

This was the first Swedish wedding I have photographed and it was interesting seeing the cultural differences, although in the part very similar to the UK. The first and obvious difference is that Mili and John both walked down the aisle together. It was a lovely moment seeing them walking down the aisle together smiling at their family and friends. The Swedish church that Mili and John chose to get married is in Harcourt Street Central London. It really is a beautiful church inside with the words ‘Gud ar Karlek’ inscribed above the alter, this translates to ‘God is Love’

Winters Barn Canterbury Wedding Photography

Winters Barn Canterbury Wedding PhotographyI consider myself to be very lucky to attend the weddings I do in Kent and London on a weekly basis and as I said on my Facebook page I am humbled when bride and grooms ask me to photograph their day. I take the responsibility of photographing a wedding very seriously, quite simply I love being a Wedding photographer in the UK.

The wedding of Jenny and Aaron last Saturday at Winters Barn in Canterbury Kent was emotional and inspiring and I met some genuinely amazing people.  Thank you to the couple, your family and friends for making me feel so welcome, I hope I have done you proud with your images.

The Old Rectory in Hastings – Wedding Venue

The Old Rectory in Hastings – Wedding Venue: The Old Rectory in Hastings East Sussex is a fabulous boutique wedding venue, perfect for weddings or civil partnerships catering up to 80 guests. The Old Rectory is perfect for wedding photography with its elegant lounge or, weather permitting outside in the wonderful garden, under the gazebo.

The Old Rectory is just a short walk from the shops and bars in Hastings Old Town, the beach and the fishing harbour.

I had the privilege of photographing a civil partnership at the Old Rectory and from a wedding photographers point of view it’s wonderful.. The boutique décor and the staff make it a perfect choice for a summer or winter wedding or civil partnership.

Romance of a Wet Wedding Day

Wet Wedding Photography

Wet Weddings in the UK

Finally, after much debate and discussion over the coffee table, your wedding date is fixed and you are super excited about getting dolled up for your happiest day! Before you get too excited, however, have you cross-checked the weather forecast for the day? Will it be sunny? Or is it going to be a wet day? The weather can be fickle in London and surrounding areas, especially during summers, when it can rain cats and dogs on some really wet days. So, it makes sense to be prepared for a wet wedding day if the forecast predicts so.
If you always wanted the Sun to shine and shower its blessings on your momentous day, don’t fret over a wet wedding day ‘coz the romance of wedding on a rainy day can be equally memorable, if not more. When you have all the contingency plans for a wet wedding in place, rest assured that you won’t just have a romantic wedding, but romance will be in the air too!

Unique Wedding Ideas in the UK

Unique Wedding Ideas in the UK Unique Wedding Ideas in the UK : If you live in the UK or planning to get married here, there are no shortages of unique wedding ideas to make your day historic. While you may be inclined to celebrate your wedding with the usual pomp and gay abandon – much like most of the weddings happening around UK, yet you must ponder over the thought of making your wedding a unique affair by doing something that is unusual and surprisingly pleasant for everyone present. Not for a moment am I suggesting that the wedding should be a dull affair. However, the effort should be to make it an unforgettable event for the guests as well as yourself.

Rock n Roll Bride – Your Big Day The Rock N’ Roll Way

Your Big Day the Rock n Roll Way

Photography credit David Mcneil

This has to be one of the finest UK wedding blogs that I’ve come across on the Internet. Though it’s been referred to as a “Mecca for gorgeous photography and inspiring real weddings”, yet there is something that this blog offers that other wedding websites simply overlook. And that is the creativity with which Kat Williams presents all the information on her blog.
