Eltham Palace Wedding PhotographerEltham Palace Wedding Photographer:  There are wedding venues and then there are wedding venues, Eltham Palace is the latter. It really is an amazing Art Deco inspired building set within acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with incredible views across London. Also it has the added advantage of being moments from my own home so getting home after a long wedding is nice and easy.

My bride and groom for this Eltham Palace wedding were Kat and Chris and a massive thanks to them for asking me to photograph their wedding day. Having met up with the couple twice ahead of the day,  I knew the day would itself would run like clockwork, which it did.  On our second meeting Kat mentioned they were looking for a pianist to play before the reception so I suggested my Dad, we managed to sort it out and it was really cool shooting a wedding whilst listening to my Dad playing the piano.

I have photographed a wedding at Eltham Palace before but this was the first time photographing the actual Ceremony there and I was really looking forward to it. The Ceremony was held in the Entrance Hall, but this isn’t just any Entrance Hall. The Entrance Hall at Eltham Palace is a stunning circular wood-panelled room, brides can make their entrance down one of  of a pair of curved staircases. The Hall was designed by Swedish architect and designer Rolf Engströmer.  One of the main features of the Hall is the impressive even metre wide glass and concrete dome. For photography it’s great as it lets plenty of light to flood in.

I think it’s safe to say that Kat and Chris’s wedding was one of the first this year when it didn’t rain at some point during the day. In fact I remember walking across the bridge and feeling the sun on my face, it felt warm, it felt strange 🙂

After the ceremony I took Kat and Chris for a short 15 minute walk around the building and in the gardens for some couple portraits. We then made our way back  to the guests before heading into the Great Hall for the wedding breakfast.

Here are some of the images from the day which I hope you like. Please feel free to comment, as it’s always nice to read nice things about my images 😉

Thank you so much for being part of our wedding. We loved having you as our photographer due to your wonderful nature and of course the final product. These photos really capture what the day felt like for Chris and I; relaxed, full of love and laughter and of course in an incredible venue. You made us and our guests feel so happy during the day though many shots have people saying ‘I never noticed them taking this one’ which is a testament to your professionalism. We can’t stop looking through the photos. Thank you again to you and all your colleagues.
