High Rocks in Kent Wedding Photographer Charlotte & Lee had a very laid back ceremony with about 50 of their close family and friends at High Rocks in Kent. High Rocks is situated down a quiet country lane, a short drive from Tunbridge Wells. What makes this Kent Wedding Venue so special is the awesome High Rocks which date back millions of years. If you mix a venue like High Rocks, a daring couple that are not afraid to walk to the top of the Rocks and not forgetting me, you will undoubtedly end up with some pretty contemporary wedding photos.
What was also great was finally it felt like summer had arrived… Myself and my assistant (John Erskine) arrived nice and early and enjoyed a coffee in the beautiful gardens at High Rocks. Coffee over it was time to start shooting.
Lee arrived with his best man and were shortly greeted by family and friends. When Charlotte arrived I could tell she looked nervous but before long she started to relax.
I genuinely love photographing weddings and I was recently asked do I ever get bored shooting so many weddings… the simple answer is no. I do shoot a lot of weddings but every single one of them is totally unique. They all have the couples own stamp on the day, be it the favours or table decorations, no two weddings are ever the same. I love being able to portray the wedding day as I see it… not all unscripted, I am far from being a pure reportage photographer, that said 80-90% of a wedding day is reportage but the remaining time I can shoot creatively, and bring to life images that have been sitting in my mind for weeks and months.
The reactions I get from my bride and grooms both on the day and after continues to inspire me to keep improving, to keep trying new things and pushing that boundary.
It was truly a great day and thank you to Charlotte and Lee for asking me to photograph their wedding day.
